Just past the entrance, you'll find yourself in our 8,000 volume fiction and literature section, with authors from Ed Abbey to Emile Zola, including novels and single-author short story collections. Multi-author anthologies follow, organised alphabetically by editor. We also have a couple of shelves of Large Print books (presently including both fiction and nonfiction). Nearby - between the greeting cards and the postcards - is a bookcase of the latest in Popular Fiction. These books are bargain priced - even lower than the half-off-cover-price that most of our books are. Around past the last shelf row are collectors' editions, such as Modern Library Fiction and Heritage Press Editions. Looking for a gift? These publishers made handsome editions, and we also have some sets of particular authors in Weldon's Room. |

Claire is the name given to one of our "ghosts" in certain stories about unusual things that have happened here. It is certainly true that our fiction collection holds the "spirit" of the Haunted Bookshop, in that we love to introduce readers and stories to each other. In this room, you'll find paperback classics as well as collectors' editions, a sampling of our favourite recent novels (many of which are signed), and some things you might not find very often, like fiction published by the Toothpaste Press or lesser-known works by Mikhail Bulgakov. Not sure what to pick? Let us know what you like, and we'll show you some other things you might enjoy. |
